“Maharashtra NCC is the best directorate in the country having the unique distinction of winning the Prime Minister’s banner 17 times since inception. I wish and hope that Maharashtra NCC will reclaim its rightful place and continue the winning streak,” Vidyasagar Rao said while addressing the cadets.
Observing that India had one-fourth of share in the world economy in the 16th century, the Governor said, the country suffered tremendous economic, social and cultural destruction due to the long spell of foreign domination. Recalling that Maharashtra, the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, had given the toughest resistance to the foreign powers, the Governor expressed confidence that India will become a global leader once again if the youth of the nation involved themselves in nation building. The Governor also sought the participation of youths in conserving environment and preserving heritage.
Cadets of NCC presented group songs and classical dance on this occasion.
